The mother in-law of Pharmist Chuks Okoronkwo of Umudibia Abueke ,Ihitte Uboma LGA of Imo State was last Saturday (29/3/25) buried at her husband’s compound,Umuchie Abueke in Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State amidst tears and celebration.
The burial ceremony witnessed the presence of many dignitaries from far and near, especially politicians both serving and former elected and appointed office holders from the three zones of Orlu,Okigwe and Owerri respectively.
Delivering his sermon at Saint Banabas Anglican Church ,Eluama, Abueke on Ihitte Uboma LGA, Bishop O.C. Onuoha of the Anglican Diocese of Okigwe South charged Christians to always prepare for internity,pointing out that the life they are living is not theirs, but that of God.
Bishop Onuoha who was represented by Dr.V.C Okoro maintained that everyone must give account of his life on earth unto the Lord at the last day and appealed to Christians to continue to live a Christian life inspite of the economic, security and political problems facing our Country.
The Anglican Bishop however discribed late Ezinne Elizabeth Onugo Okafor as a great woman of faith who was committed to the services of God till her demise and noted that Ezinne Okafor lived long on earth owing to her faith in God, having died at the age of 95 years. .
In a funeral oration by her Son, Peter Okezie Okafor poured encomium on her late mother,especially for her motherly care and love to them and everyone that come across her while she lived.
He stated that they will greatly missed her mother, her kind gestures and prayed God to grant her soul internal rest.
The funeral service also witness various special choruses and worship songs in honour of the deceased and to the glory of God.
Saint Banabas Anglican Church venue of the funeral service in honour of late Ezinne Elizabeth Onugo Okafor was filled to capacity as dignitaries from all works of life, including the academia, business moguls, captains of industries, prominent Politicians and royal fathers gather to honour the deceased families.
Among the prominent personalities at the well attended burial ceremony were; Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Chief Cosmos Iwu, Prof Mourice Iwu, former INEC Chairman, Chief Barr Chris Okewulonu, former SSG, Imo State, Chief Chuma Nnaji, former Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Jonas Okeke, former Federal House of Rep. Member for Okigwe South Fed. Constituency, Chief Jerry Chukwueke, Prof. Chimedu Nwaebo, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Hon Mike Uchendu,, Hon George Egu, Chief Dan Ogu, HRM,Eze Oliver, Ohanwe, and Eze Innocent Onuoha.
